I REVIEW DISORDER AT BELFAST! WHAT HAPPENED?

10/12/2022

An enthusiastic crowd, ready to have a good time, showed up at Ulsters Sports Club on Thursday night to welcome our very own Disorder to the city.

When I started my journalism career a few months ago, David England, the main vocalist of the well-known rock band Disorder, was the first person I ever spoke with about an opportunity. They gave a major performance in the city's bar Ulsters Sports Club less than a week ago. All for an extremely great price of £5 for music, friends, and atmosphere. It was a night that meant a lot to be a part of and was a seriously wonderful night for music on its own.

It's uncommon to go to a concert where the main act can stroll around the audience giving everybody a pat on the back. Disorder arrived on stage stylishly late and began their performance with "Are You Sure," one of their seven unreleased tracks. The band was greeted with thunderous ovation. Together, they decided to perform many of their unheard songs in their entirety. It was a courageous decision because few people in the crowd were aware of it, but it was also a good one.

David began to sing "Teenage Kicks" and "I'm Coming Alive" without any hesitation. They delivered hit after song while pacing the stage. Along with some brand-new songs, such as "Bless You" and "Fiontan," which enthralled the audience, classics like "Zombie," "Power to the People," and a stunning rendition of "Cigarettes and Alcohol" were all beautifully performed.

"Merry Christmas Everyone" was a perfect pick for their encore. It's incredible that the production went off without a hitch. Being able to watch a group of boys local to Belfast create music on their terms was a gift. Disorder are a band that checks all the boxes for any indie rock lover who likes the ruthless ambition of the 80s and 90s music industry with a combination of their original songs and britpop classics to get the crowd rocking.

I want to give a special shoutout to the support acts Madams Last Discovery and Arthur street along with the other memebers of disorder who I haven't mentioned as of yet: Michael (Drums), Ewan (Lead Guitar) and Jack (Bass). Well done to all involved and good luck in the future! Peace and Love x

The boys are playing alongside another local band called Asphyxiation on the 20th of January in the Space Theater, Bangor. Tickets are free and are available here:
